SOFTBALL
Holly Shelter 4, Murray 0

A 2-out single to center field from Ava Monahan in the top of the first inning scored Avery Working to give the Hurricanes the lead for good.
Holly Shelter tacked on three insurance runs in the in the fifth. Gracie Miley and Monahan had back-to-back RBI singles.
Pitcher Hailey Burk threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and just three walks.
Murray got a pair of hits from Malia Mehling and one from Riley Wade.
Pitchers Madison Dehn and Addison Coniglio scattered just three hits. Dehn recorded six strikeouts in five innings, while Coniglio retired the side in order in the sixth.
Trask 15, Myrtle Grove 0 (3 innings)

The Bears began their quest for a seventh consecutive county title with a dominant victory behind a combined two-hitter from Alaina Peterson and Natalie Grubbs.
Peterson struck out the side in the top of the first inning, while Grubbs recorded four strikeouts over the final two frames.
Trask sent 15 batters to the plate in a 10-run first inning. The Bears worked 17 walks and were hit by four pitches. Nathanya Holmes finished with two RBI, while Mary Broomfield added one.
Noble 18, Williston 1 (3 innings)

Pitchers Julianna Stevens and Payton Waits combined for seven strikeouts in the mercy-rule home win.
Stevens also had an outstanding performance at the plate by finishing 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Campbell Johnson went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Lawyn Williamson hit a pair of doubles and drove in two runs.
Williston (0-1) welcomes Myrtle Grove on Tuesday and visits Trask on Thursday.

Hailey Burk recorded her second shutout of the week, allowing just one hit and striking out eight batters.
Holly Shelter (2-0) scored 11 runs in the first inning and added seven more in the second. Kinsley Silva had three RBI and one run scored, while Burk drove in two runs and crossed the plate three times.
Lucy Knittel, Ava Monahan, Avery Working and Emma Love Johnson all scored twice.
The Hurricanes collected seven hits and worked 20 walks.
Holly Shelter hosts Roland-Grise on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Myrtle Grove (0-2) visits Williston on Tuesday and hosts Noble on Thursday. Both games start at 4 p.m.
Roland-Grise 20, Noble 5 (4 innings)

The first three batters in the Knights’ lineup – Dot Shapiro, Izzy Ponce and Lyla Weninger – combined to go 6-for-8 with four walks, six RBI and nine runs scored.
Shapiro finished 2-for-2 with two walks, a triple, a home run, two stolen bases, three RBI and four runs scored. Weninger and Kaleigh Jeffrey both had two RBI, while Ponce crossed the plate three times.
Ponce also earned the victory by scattering four hits in a complete game.
Roland-Grise (1-0) scored at least two runs in every inning, including five in the second, third and fourth.
The Knights visit Holly Shelter on Tuesday and Murray on Thursday. Noble (1-1) plays at Trask on Tuesday and Myrtle Grove on Thursday. All games will begin at 4 p.m.

Alaina Peterson had a strong game at the plate with three RBI and in the circle by recording four strikeouts.
JoJo Efstafthiadis drove in two runs. Trask (2-0) also got one RBI a piece from Brooklyn Quitman, Cyra Cribbin, Aubrey Bettencourt and Sophia Stiller.
Murray’s (0-2) Malia Mehling and Kenleigh Walker both finished 2-for-2. Madison Friece drove in a pair of runs.
The Bears host Noble on Tuesday and Williston on Thursday with both games beginning at 4 p.m. The Falcons host Roland-Grise at 4 p.m. Thursday.

FOOTBALL
Noble 8, Murray 6 (OT)
After finding the end zone on a 2-yard run in overtime to tie the score at 6-all, Ryder Suarez tacked on the game-winning two-point conversion for the Eagles.
Murray (0-1) got the ball first in overtime and got a touchdown from Caiden Soto, but the Noble (1-0) defense stuffed the two-point run.
Both teams have road games on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The Eagles travel to Roland-Grise, while the Falcons visit Trask.
Trask 30, Myrtle Grove 8
Seventh grader Mally Hansley-Roland accounted for three touchdowns in his first game in a Bears uniform.
Hansley-Roland threw a touchdown pass. He also found the end zone on a run and a punt return.
The Trask (1-0) defense was outstanding all game. Makai Gill, Peyton Simpson, Jackson Cosimo and Hansley-Roland all finished with tackles for loss.
An 86-yard run from Caden Williams was the lone touchdown for Myrtle Grove (0-1). Will Dewyngaert added the two-point conversion.
The defense was able to stop all six two-point conversions and get a goal-line stand. Williams came away with an interception, while Bryson Cockerham recovered a fumble that was forced by Alex LeMaster.
Next up for the Bears is a home game against Murray at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Gators will try to get their first victory at home against Holly Shelter on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Roland-Grise 44, Virgo 6
The two-time defending county champions got off to a fast start when Judah Gillespie ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and Walter Wishon converted the two-point conversion.
Roland-Grise’s (1-0) second score came on a pass from Briggs Ulrich to Elijah Emory. The advantage grew to 24-0 when Wishon found the end zone.
Austin McLamb and Ace Brooks both had rushing touchdowns. Wishon had a pair of 2-point conversions, while Brooks, Gillespie and Currin McLamb all added one.
The Knights’ defense forced a pair of safeties.
Next up for Roland-Grise is a home game against Noble on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Virgo (0-1) travels to Williston at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
