2025 Football Defensive Players of the Year: Hoggard
Now that the fall sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in girls golf, girls tennis, boys and girls cross country, boys soccer, volleyball, football and girls flag football.
The Coastal Preps Football Defensive Players of the Year went to an entire team – Hoggard.

Hoggard’s Accomplishments
It was impossible to pick one player off the area’s most dominant defense, so for the first time, the award went to the entire unit.
Hoggard allowed only 12.5 points per game and held its final 11 opponents to 14 points or less because of its dominance at every level.
The Vikings finished with 40 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 13 interceptions, three safeties, and six touchdowns.
Opposing offenses averaged just 144 yards, and no team surpassed 100 rushing yards in a game.
The defensive line was anchored by Marshall Chalk (75 tackles and eight sacks), Everett Hoerdemann (58 tackles and four sacks), and Cain Brubaker (54 tackles and six sacks). The trio combined for 69 of the team’s 122 quarterback hurries.
Sophomore linebacker Graham McNeely had a breakout season by coming up with a team-high 10 sacks and forcing three fumbles. JP Meyers (72 tackles) and Josh Tingelstad (67 tackles) were also very productive.
Hoggard had the area’s best secondary. Both cornerbacks – Jude Moulton (10 pass deflections and one interception) and RaSean Williams (eight pass deflections and three interceptions) had no trouble in one-on-one coverage. Safeties Liam Geib (six pass deflections and three interceptions) and Ja’Quay Locke (four forced fumbles and two interceptions) caused chaos in the back.
