BOYS SOCCER

No. 9 Wilmington Christian Academy 7, Greenville Christian Academy 4

The Patriots scored all seven goals in the second half to secure their sixth consecutive victory.

Aiden McDonough scored twice and dished out two assists, while fellow junior Matthew Schultz added two goals and one assist. 

WCA (11-3-2, 8-0 NCCSA 2A District 4 East) also got a pair of goals from Thomas Lenfesty. 

Ryan Asbury finished with one goal and one assist. The other assists came from Caleb Altobello-Clark and Brody Meshaw.

A match at ALA Coastal on Monday at 4 p.m. awaits the Patriots. 

VOLLEYBALL

No. 4 Coastal Christian 3, Davidson Day 2

25-18, 23-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-13

Double-doubles from Baylor Everette, Leighton Grant and Paige Moyer were instrumental in giving the Centurions their fifth five-set win of the season. 

Everette handed out 42 assists to go along with 15 digs and four aces. Moyer put down a team-high 13 kills and came up with 12 digs, while Grant added 12 kills and 12 digs. 

Coastal Christian (14-10) also got eight kills and three blocks from Randal Bork as well as nine kills apiece from seniors Chloe Carter and Ryleigh Wood. 

The Centurions visit John Paul II at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Hannah Pollard and Georgia Taydus had strong performances on their senior night. 

Pollard hit .420 with a team-high 13 kills, while Taydus finished with 13 assists, five digs and five aces. She was also
honored for surpassing 1,500 career assists. 

WCA (12-11, 7-1 NCCSA 2A District 4 East) got 11 assists and eight digs from Emma Johnson as well as seven kills from Ava Gray.

Nora Rutland came up with nine digs, while Rylen Tyrpak served six aces. 

A match at Topsail on Tuesday night at 6 awaits the Patriots.
