COASTAL PREPS THREE STARS OF THE NIGHT

GIRLS TENNIS
New Hanover 9, T.C. Roberson 0
For the second day in a row, the Wildcats captured all nine courts.
Elizabeth Sifly (No. 1), Virginia Breeden (No. 2), Emma Miller Buchanan (No. 4), and Laynie Fortun (No. 5) had identical 6-0, 6-0 scores in singles.
Elizabeth Lewis won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6, while Yaren Aslanturk earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
New Hanover (2-0) dropped only two total games in doubles. The teams of Buchanan/Fortun (No. 2) and Lewis/Maggie Hooks (No. 3) won 8-0. Aslanturk and Lila Brown had an 8-2 score at No. 1.
The Wildcats play at Watagua on Friday at 4 p.m.
Hoggard 7, Durham Academy 2
The Vikings earned five singles victories before adding two doubles points to win on the road.
Navy commit Audrey Sica (No. 1) and Emmy Brookshire (No. 5) prevailed by scores of 8-1 in their singles matches.
Hoggard (1-0) also got singles wins from Kenzie Le (8-4 at No. 3), Libby Williamson (8-6 at No. 4), and Allie Sauer (8-4 at No. 6).
Sica and Le teamed up for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles. The No. 3 team of Sauer and Grace Weiss dropped only two games.
Next up for the Vikings is a home match against Cardinal Gibbons on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
VOLLEYBALL
No. 3 Laney 3, Lejeune 0
(25-9, 25-11, 25-15)
The Buccaneers hit an impressive .333 as a team to roll at home.
Jenna Powe put down a team-high eight kills to go along with two blocks and four digs.
Grace Johnson added seven kills and four digs, while Kaitlyn Dreimann came up with 11 digs and served three aces.
Laney (2-0) had 13 total aces, including four from Kara Williams. Setter Abbey Hendren handed out 16 assists.
A home match against South Brunswick at 6 p.m. Monday awaits the Buccaneers.
No. 14 Pender 3, James Kenan 0
(27-25, 25-12, 25-18)
Libero Eden Gurganus came up with 15 digs to go along with two aces and two kills, and the Patriots capped a perfect week.
Pender (3-0) was once again led by Victoria Wells, who finished with 10 kills and three blocks.
Merissa Crawford chipped in six kills.
The Patriots travel to Union on Monday night at 6.

BOYS SOCCER

Senior goalkeeper Pedro Sandoval recorded the shutout by saving all 10 shots he faced.
Trask (1-1) led 2-0 at halftime before adding to its lead in the second half.
Jafet Bailon finished with one goal and one assist. Edgar Jesus Montiel Valerio and Andrew Rollings also found the back of the net.
Leonel Sanchez handed out an assist.
The Titans host South Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
