Cape Fear Ghost Crabs 11, Oak Island Loggerheads 5
Brock Polilli (Tiffin) and Dylan Stacks (North Brunswick) both drove in three runs, and the Ghost Crabs remained unbeaten in Coastal Division play by scoring all 11 runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Cape Fear (4-1, 3-0) managed only one hit in five innings against southpaw Caleb Cloninger (Cleveland CC). Once he exited the game, the home team started generating some offense.
Coleman Cross (West Virginia Wesleyan/Ashley) led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a single up the middle. He advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a double down the right field line from Trey Pierce (Brunswick CC/WCA) to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Will Jones (WCA) was hit by a pitch to bring home Pierce and tie the score.
Stacks put the Ghost Crabs on top for good with a two-run single. Julian King completed the scoring with a sacrifice fly.
Cape Fear sent 10 batters to the plate during a six-run seventh inning that all but sealed the victory. The big hit was a bases-clearing triple to right field from Polilli.
Oak Island (3-2, 3-2) answered back with three runs in the top of the eighth, but center fielder Trey Pierce threw out a runner at the plate to end the inning.
Pierce went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI from the leadoff spot. Cross collected a pair of hits, while Jones and Gavin Marceric (Tiffin) each scored twice.

Cline went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.
