Oak Island Loggerheads 14, Jacksonville Ospreys 3 (8 innings)
A three-run home run from Brady Wozniak (Washington, Md.) ended the game by mercy-rule.
The third baseman had a big night at the plate by going 3-for-3 with a pair of walks, six RBI, and three runs scored.
Oak Island (14-15, 14-15 Coastal Division) also got a two-run homer from Rocco Tenuta (Hillsdale, Mich.) in the bottom of the first inning to even the score at 2-2.
Tenuta was 2-for-3 with a walk, three RBI, and two runs.
The Loggerheads finished with 13 hits, eight walks, and eight stolen bases. Will Lehman (Hillsdale, Mich.) went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, two stolen bases and two RBI.
Lehman scored the go-ahead run in the second inning on a wild pitch.
Oak Island increased its lead to 7-2 after three innings thanks to a two-run single from Wozniak followed by an RBI double from Lehman.
Ayden Cline (Missouri St. Louis), Donovan Brooks ( Neumann, Pa.), and Tyler Stillson (Case Western Reserve, Ohio) all crossed the plate twice.
Pitchers Caleb Cloninger (Cleveland CC), Cole Barnes (UNC Greensboro/Ashley), and Chance Turner (Wake Tech) combined for seven strikeouts and no walks.
Cape Fear Ghost Crabs 13, Shallotte Shallywags 8 (7 innings)
The Ghost Crabs concluded the regular season with a road victory that featured 16 hits.
Seven Cape Fear (24-10, 21-9 Coastal Division) players had multiple hits. Kayden Leck (Owens CC, Ohio) finished 3-for-4 with a walk, three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run scored.
Jack Cuba (Catawba/New Hanover) doubled twice and worked a walk. He added two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Leadoff batter Trey Pierce was 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, one RBI, and four runs.
Luke Liptak (Mansfield, Pa.) and Julian King (St. Maarten) each went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Drew Nye (Highland CC, Kan.) and Ryan Seagroves (Brunswick CC) had two hits and scored once.
The Ghost Crabs sent 14 batters to the plate during a nine-run top of the sixth inning that turned a 5-4 deficit into a 13-5 advantage.
A double to right field from Liptak scored Seagroves and King to put the visitors on top 7-5.
Shallotte (5-24, 5-24) was led offensively by shortstop Dylan Dotson (Bluefield, Va.). He was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, and one run.
Messiah White (Chowan) finished 2-for-3 with two runs.
