Wilmington Post 10 Jr. Sharks 12, Jacksonville Post 265 0 (5 innings)
The Post 10 Jr. Sharks cruised to their seventh consecutive victory behind a combined 1-hitter from pitchers Tate Nelson (New Hanover) and Dom Civelli (Laney).
Nelson started and allowed one base hit with seven strikeouts in four dominant innings to earn the win. Civelli retired the side in order in the fifth, including the final two batters by strikeout.
Wilmington (15-4, 7-0 Area II) scored six runs in the top of the third inning to grab control. Fisher Goodwin (North Brunswick) and Gavin Templeman (South Brunswick) both had two-run singles.
Templeman finished 3-for-4 with five RBI, while Goodwin also went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
A double from Templeman in the fourth inning plated Goodwin and Jonah Campbell (North Brunswick) to increase the lead to 9-0.
Colton Creech (New Hanover) led off the fifth with a walk and advanced to third base on a double from Preston Smith (Hoggard). Both runners easily scored on an opposite-field single from Goodwin. Two batters later, Templeman drove in Goodwin with a base hit to complete the scoring.
